Helping Families Create Precious Memories
The Ieuan The Lion Memorial Fund was founded in 2009 to honour the life and legacy of our beautiful son, Ieuan. After a sudden and devastating illness, Ieuan passed away on 3rd July 2007 at just 13 years old. Though his final months were filled with hardship, he faced them all with extraordinary courage, kindness, and his unforgettable smile.
Ieuan loved to sing, perform, and make people laugh. From the age of two, he lit up every room he entered and dreamt of one day becoming a star. That dream was cut short—but his light didn’t go out. Through this charity, we carry forward his spirit by helping other families create precious memories in the time they have together.
Our Purpose
When a child is living with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, it changes everything. Families are overwhelmed with appointments, stress, and uncertainty. That’s why we created a space where they can rest, relax, and reconnect—without pressure.
Our fully-adapted holiday home in Kiln Park, Tenby gives families a safe, comfortable, and accessible place to enjoy a free holiday together. For many, it’s a rare opportunity to escape hospital routines and focus on what matters most: time with each other.
Inspired by Kindness
During Ieuan’s illness, we were shown so much love and support—from family, friends, and complete strangers. That kindness meant the world to us, and it’s what motivated us to give something back to the Welsh community that stood by us in our darkest moments.
What began as a grieving family’s dream has grown into a registered charity that now helps dozens of families each year. And we’re just getting started.
